Fairport Convention were one of the most innovative and influential bands of the British at the end of 1960 and is still recording and touring. The singer during her most of the time was Sandy Denny, who was in my opinion the greatest singer of this or any era. The enormous emotional range of his voice was unmatched by any other singer. Sandy died tragically in 1978 from a brain hemorrhage after falling down a staircase.
